UKANA POLY ACTING RECTOR RECEIVES ROYAL BLESSINGS
Acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic in Ukana, Surveyor Uduak Ikpong Inyang-Udoh has been commended for according the traditional institution it’s deserved respect, and for his passion to develop the Polytechnic.
The Clan Head of Ukana West in Essien Udim Local Government Area, His Highness, Okuku Silvanus Obot Udoekanem, Jp gave the commendation during a familiarization visit to his palace by the Acting Rector and his team.
Okuku Udoekanem who is also the President, Assembly of Clan Heads in Akwa Ibom State described Surv. Inyang-Udoh as a humble, respectful and experienced administrator with profound respect for the traditional institution.
He called on the acting Rector to put in his very best to the development of the institution within his short tour of duty while pledging the continuous support and blessing of the royal fathers to his administration and the Polytechnic.
Earlier in his speech, Surv. Inyang-Udoh said he was in the palace to show respect to the royal fathers and to seek their blessings as he begins his journey in the Polytechnic.
The Acting Rector said his mission in the Polytechnic was to help the institution run effectively through collaboration with relevant stakeholders as well as working with the Governing Council to midwife a substantive Rector for the Polytechnic.
He promised to work closely with the royal fathers to deliver the expected benefits to the host communities of the institution.
Speaking during the visit, the Village Heads of Ukana Ikot Ntuen and Ukana Onuk, Chief Michael Akpabio and Chief Victor Ntuen commended the acting Rector for the visit and advised him to consider members of the host communities in matters of employment and appointments whenever opportunity offers itself.
Present during the visit were the outgoing Registrar of the Polytechnic, Dr Okon John Ekanem, Polytechnic Librarian, Dr( Mrs) Mercy Ebong, Bursar -Mr. Mark Titus Binwal.
Others include the acting Head of Works – Engr Imo Okoji, Deputy Registrar, Mr. Jeremiah Akpabio.
