Governor Udom Emmanuel may decamp from PDP before 2023-Udoedeghe
–Senator Akpan Udoedeghe has insinuated that Governor Udom Emmanuel may decamp from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before 2023 general elections.
The Secretary of APC Interim Management Committee, Senator J. J. Udoedeghe has cautioned Nigerians, particularly the people of Akwa Ibom State not vow for politicians, describing them as the most dynamic and unpredictable people on earth.
Senator Udoedeghe who gave the warning in a press conference at NUJ Press Centre, Uyo, an event that coincided with his birthday, posited that even the Leader of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom and Governor of the state, Mr Udom Emmanuel, may move from the party any time from now.
He expressed dismay that the populace create enmity for themselves because of party preference and affiliation as well as unguided love for certain politicians in their party who could move to another party any moment from now.
Senator Udoedeghe, who boasted that he maintains opposition because he has vision, hinted that if the likes of Senator Godswill Akpabio, who fought him to a standstill in PDP, could join him in APC, then in politics anything can happen.
“I do not have idea where Udom Emmanuel will be tomorrow. Do not vow for politicians. Vow for ideas; no one is bigger than a Republic.
“Go for idea, not relationship, in your engagement with politicians, because they don’t care about you. Politicians are moved by interest and ideas and when these elements are absent, nobody, including journalists, is valuable in their consideration in that moment,” Senator Akpan Udoedeghe challenged the people.
Senator Udoedeghe expressed happiness with the chairman of NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Amos Etuk and journalists in the state for giving him the privilege to associate with them, adding that democracy can succeed without the media.
While lamenting that NUJ in Akwa Ibom had been under pressure to shut it’s door against opposition, commeded Comrade Amos Etuk–led NUJ for repositioning the Union, urging him to sustain the tempo.
