Udom Emmanuel lauded for sustained peace in Akwa Ibom
The Managing Director, Akwa Ibom Water Company Limited, Engr Edo Bassey, has commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for sustaining and maintaining peace in the state throughout his tenure government.
Engr. Bassey, who stated this when he interacted with some journalists in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State, on Monday, 17th April 2023, said peace is the panacea for sustainable development as there can be no progress in an atmosphere of crisis.
He stated that the governor will be remembered for his peaceful disposition and for turning Akwa Ibom from a consuming state to a production state through his industrial and entrepreneural renaissance.
The MD also lauded the governor’s investment in Aviation sector and for signing the Water Bill into law to reposition the sector, maintaining that Akwa Ibomites will ever remain grateful to Udom Emmanuel’s administration
On the emergence of Pastor Umo Eno as governor-elect, the CEO described it as the beginning of another era of peace and prosperity for Akwa Ibom State, noting that Pastor Umo Eno is well prepared with experience and capacity to take Akwa Ibom to another level of enterpreneural, human capital and infrastructural development when sworn into office on 29th May, 2023.
He posited that Akwa Ibom people have made the right choice by electing Pastor Umo Eno and expressed optimism that with his experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, he will transform the sector in the state and made Akwa Ibom a tourism destination in Nigeria.
According to him, the Governor-Elect is in a hurry to transform the state and deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
“Pastor Umo Eno is a great manager of resource and an astute administrator who has made a name in the private sector. So, I have no doubt about his performance as a governor. He will do well. He has the integrity, humility and listening ears. That, to me, makes a good leader,” he remarked.
