As a way of giving back to the organization that gave him a platform to rise, a frontline governorship aspirant in Benue State, Mr Terver Akase has decided to sponsor different categories of awards for deserving journalists at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN in collaboration with the corporation’s chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.
Mr Akase stated this earlier today in Abuja when the FRCN NUJ Chapel hosted him at Radio House, Abuja to celebrate his sterling performance as Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor. He acknowledged FRCN for giving him a platform to attain the level he has reached in his career and public service in general, noting that the Corporation showcased his potentials, which shot him to limelight, prompting Governor Samuel Ortom to appoint him as his image maker.
The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) guber hopeful, used the occasion to formally intimate his colleagues that he is in the race seeking the office of Benue State Governor, and called for support from his colleagues, stressing that it was high time journalists supported one of their own to assume a top leadership position, having made other professionals to rise to stardom in diverse spheres of human endeavor.
Delivering separate goodwill messages, Deputy Director News of the corporation, Mrs Folasade Orimolade, ace broadcaster, Terseer Mnzuulga, and Collins Akujobi all attested to Akase’s attributes of industry, humility, professionalism, accessibility and transparency in the discharge of his duties, praying that his “good works will speak for him” as he aspires to govern Benue State come 2023.
In their remarks, the Deputy Director Current Affairs, Olufemi Fulani, Ishaku Nandon on behalf RATTAWU and Nkiru Nnoli for NAWOJ and Matthew Ayoola, all praised Mr Akase’s professional antecedents, noting that Benue people will be lucky to have him as Governor as he possess the knowledge, exposure and all it takes in terms of human relations and leadership.
