SERVICOM team lauds Federal Polytechnic Ukana on quality service delivery
The team leader of Federal Ministry of Education Service Compact With All Nigerians (SERVICOM) delegates to Federal Polytechnic Ukana, Mrs Stella Benson has lauded the Rector Federal Polytechnic, Ukana Dr. Uduak S. Ukekpe for the level of service delivery present in the institution.
The Rector received the commendation while playing host to the delegate members of the Federal Ministry of Education SERVICOM team at the Annex Campus of the Polytechnic.
Dr. Ukekpe appreciated the Federal Ministry of Education for setting up this very important unit to fight negative tendencies common to educational institutions, stressing that the eradication of those negative tendencies would no doubt increase efficiency and productivity in the Polytechnics.
He noted that he has set up a SERVICOM committee in the institution to monitor the level of services rendered within the Polytechnic prior to this time.
“The SERVICOM mandate is a every good one that is capable of ensuring that the services delivered within the Polytechnic is in line with the objectives of the Ministry of Education. That is why I deem it as a matter of necessity to choose capable hands who will form the members of SERVICOM committee in the Polytechnic,” he said.
In her remarks, Mrs Benson stated that the reason for the visit is to ensure that quality service is provided for the people, including presence of good leadership and also empower public officers to be alert to their responsibilities, in providing improved, efficient, timely and transparent service.
She noted that after a thorough interface with the students, staff and members of the management team of the polytechnic and a detailed facility inspection, she was satisfied with the level of implementation and the presence of an active Servicom Unit in the Polytechnic.
She also stated that one of the mandate given to them by the Ministry of Education, is to observe and make available their reports which will be published in any of the National dailies of their choice.
In a vote of thanks, the Registrar, Federal Polytechnic Ukana, Dr. Okon J. Ekanem, appreciated the Rector for his passion and zeal for good works and prayed God to strengthen him the more. He also assured the SERVICOM delegates that the institution will continue to support the SERVICOM unit of the Polytechnic .
Mrs Benson presented gifts to the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Uduak. S. Ukekpe, the Public Relations Officer, Mr Mannasseh Umoette and the Focal SERVICOM officer of the Polytechnc, Mr Archibong Umoh.
Also in attendance were the Deputy Rector, Mr Edet Elijah Etuk; the Librarian, Dr. Mrs. Mercy Ebong; Ag. Head of Works, Engr. Imo Okoji, among others.
