Second Anniversary: Ntekpere leads Ikot Ekpene, Obot Akara Stakeholders for Thanksgiving
The member representing Ikot Ekpene/ Obot Akara State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Idongesit Ntekpere brought together the crème de la crème of the area for a Thanksgiving service to mark his second year in the seventh Assembly.
The Thanksgiving Service which was held at The Methodist Church Nigeria, Ikot Ukpong, Obot Akara Local Government Area was one of its kind with distinguished personalities from all walks of life who gathered to join the lawmaker in thanksgiving to the Lord.
Rt. Hon. Ntekpere speaking at the Thanksgiving, attributed all his achievements and success in the 7th Assembly to God Almighty whom he said gave him direction and guidance. He appreciated the executive governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel for his immense support and leadership.
He posited that the need to thank God can never be over-emphasized which informed his decision to hold a Thanksgiving Service to appreciate the faithfulness of God upon his life and the seventh Assembly.
He used the occasion to present his scorecard in the Assembly for the period and assured his constituents of robust legislative engagement and provision of tangible democratic dividends.
The Thanksgiving service had in attendance the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Ebong Uko, Commissioner for Labour and Manpower Planning, the Political Leader of Ikot Ekpene, Sen. Emmanuel Ibokessien, the Chairmen of Obot Akara and Ikot Ekpene, Mrs Udo Awewen and Obong Unyime Etim.
Others who attended were Chairman, Ibom Power, Engr. Etido Inyang, Vice Chancellor AKSU, Prof. Nse Udo Essien,former Assemblyman, Sir Isong Isang among other politicians and technocrats.
The stakeholders present at the service who spoke were unanimous in their assessment of the representation of the lawmaker as being effective and very encouraging. They described Ntekpere as an experienced and dedicated lawmaker who has distinguished himself in both lawmaking, oversight as well as empowerment of his constituents.
