Raffia City Elders honour John Cleton Etim
The immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Ikot Ekpene Local Government, Sir John Cleton Etim was one of the two personalities honored recently by the Raffia City Elders Forum, RACEF, during its annual dinner held, at the Ritman University in Ikot Ekpene.
RACEF is a dignified group of citizens and residents of Ikot Ekpene, Essien Udim and Obot Akara Local Government Area who have made some impacts in the Raffia City.
At the 2024 edition of its annual dinner, the former Ikot Ekpene Transition Committee Chairman was honoured for his contributions to the development of the Raffia City.
Presenting the award, the President of RACEF, a former Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and political leader of Ikot Ekpene,Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien said the honour was in recognition of John Cleton’s intentional development of the Raffia City as Transition Committee Chairman.
Responding, Sir. Etim appreciated the leadership and members of RACEF for finding him worthy for the recognition, and pledged his resolve to continue contributing his quota to the development of Ikot Ekpene.
Also honoured was an indigene of the area,CP Regina Udoette- first female Commissioner of Police from Akwa Ibom State.
Every year, as part of gratitude and family bonding, RACEF holds an end-of-year
dinner, where it’s members drawn from the three local government areas converge to take stock of progress made during the period under review and chart a new course that would advance the development of the three local governments.
The 2024 edition was well attended by eminent sons and daughters of the area including Abom Tony Ibanga Esuh,Engr. Etido Inyang, Engr Camillus Umoh, Elder Jerry Otu, Justice Ekerette Ebieyie rtd, Sir Suyiekekere Inokon,Sir Cosmas Udoette among others.
