Joy, Excitement In Uyo As Prof. Yemi Osinbajo Declares For President
It was a moment of joy and excitement amongst Professor Yemi Osinbajo (PYO) support groups as their principal finally answers the clarion call of million Nigerians to run for office of the President of the country come 2023. The Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on early hours of Monday, April 11, 2023 officially announced his intention to contest the 2023 presidential election.
Major streets in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Capital was taken to a standstill barely few hours after Vice President of Nigeria made openly his intention to vie for office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The announcement promoted jubilation as over two thousand supporters of Osinbajo under the aegis of The New Tribe, Akwa Ibom State Chapter stormed major streets of Uyo in solidarity of the Vice President’s declaration to contest 2023 presidential election.
The solidarity match took off at Unity Park along Udo Udoma Avenue and later trespassed other major streets of Uyo. While addressing the mammoth crowd, Comrade Udauakabasi Ikpat, said that God has answered prayers of many Nigerians as Prof. Osinbajo’s declaration openly symbolizes that the Vice President cares for millions of Nigerians. He stated further that Nigerians cannot afford to miss the opportunity of having a credible hand like Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as their president in 2023.
Mr. Ikpat charged members of The New Tribe and supporters of the VP to go back to their respective roots and announce that Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is fully prepared to takeover the mantle of leadership of the country from his Boss, the current President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari whose tenure elapsed on June, 12, 2023 by the grace of God.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of Osinbajo Support Movement (OSM) in Akwa Ibom State, Elder Emmanuel Oton expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God for granting journey mercies to all members from different Local Government Areas to Uyo, the State Capital.
Elder Oton also charged them to return to their units and wards with the goodnews that Prof. Osinbajo is fully prepared to win next year’s election by the grace of God. He added that what was witnessed in Uyo on Monday is just a preamble to the hurricane match and mobilization that shall be witnessed in few days to come.
It could be recalled that the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on early hours of Monday morning, had officially announced his intention to contest for 2023 presidential under All Progressives Congress (APC). While presenting his declaration speech, the Vice President said that, he has worked with the President of Nigeria for the past seven years and that has gone through all local government areas in Nigeria and has also felt the pains of the masses, adding that he is ready to heal the pains if elected president in 2023.
”For the past seven years, I have served as vice president under a true Nigerian patriot, a servant of the nation in war and peace, and a man of integrity, President Muhammadu Buhari. We have, together, worked through some of the most difficult times in the history of our nation, but we have remained focused on securing the country, providing infrastructure and growing our economy.
“”I’ve been to practically all local governments in Nigeria. I have been in markets, factories, schools, and farms. I have been in agricultural, mining and oil-producing communities in the Delta, in Kebbi, Enugu, Borno; Rivers, Plateau and Ondo; and in all other states of the federation, listening to the diverse experiences and yearnings of our people. I have visited our gallant troops in the north-east and our brothers and sisters in the IDP camps. I have felt the pain and anguish of victims of violent conflicts, terrorist attacks, flooding, fire and other disasters. I have been in the homes of many ordinary Nigerians in various parts of the country. I have sat with our techprenuers in Lagos, Edo, and Kaduna, with our Nollywood and Kannywood actors; with our musicians from Lagos, Onitsha and Kano. And I have spoken to small and large businesses”, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo maintained.
