Politics: Leadership crisis rocks Ekperikpe Ekpo’s ADF
A leadership crisis has emerged within the Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum (ADF) as influential members resign, dissociating themselves from the group to prioritize their political parties, citing inadequate collaboration and forward-thinking from the Director General, Ekperikpe Ekpo.
Driven by dissatisfaction with the lack of progress and vision, the group has seen a series of resignations, most recently by Hon. Barr. Chris Okrie from Etim Ekpo Local Government and Hon. Mrs. Geraldine Etuk, who join previous departures.
The resignators declared in their statement that their loyalty and backing for the Renewed Hope Agenda of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the 10th Senate’s President, Chief Dr. Godswill Akpabio, remains unshakeable.
The ADF was never a family affairs forum; it was rather a backup vehicle for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State. Meanwhile, Honorable Minister Ekperikpe Ekpo and his wife claim ownership of the ADF, driven by self-centered interests, not the forum’s interests, resulting in mass resignations.
The group DG, Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo has yet to address the widespread resignation of members from Akwa Ibom State’s ADF political forum, creating uncertainty about the organization’s current standing.
May the soul of ADF, Rest in perfect peace.🕯️
