Okon Eket Roads: An Eyesore
Ikot Akpandem and Ikot Obioro are among the front-line villages in the now renamed Okon 3 ward.
The reason for this is not far fetched as the outgoing Executive Chairman of Eket LGA hails from Ikot Akpandem while the Okon Clan Head is also the village head of Ikot Obioro.
These two villages are intertwined and interwoven together and share common boundaries.
By the side of these two villages situates the first post primary institution in Eket , St Francis Secondary School founded in 1962.
This is the road that traverses across the length and breadth of these villages in the twenty first century.
We are also being told that one of the main functions of a local government council is to grade roads.
Your guess is as good as mine. Our indefatigable Chairman, as you look forward to celebrating your one hundred days in office next week , before finally bowing out in early December, what will you be remembered for, by your fellow kinsmen ?
Why not make a single phone call to one of the roads giants , CCECC to come and do some remedial work on this portion of road in form of grading ? History will surely vindicate the just.
