Obong University: Our academic standard is excellence – VC
The Vice Chancellor of Obong University, Akwa Ibom State Prof Ekanem Essang has said the institution has maintained an excellence academic standard since her establishment.
Professor Essang who stated this during an interactive session with the stakeholders of the university in Uyo noted that the institution is poised to produce graduate with high moral standard and entrepreneural skills at the end of their academic programme.
The Vice Chancellor noted that all the fifteen programmes offered in the university are fully and interimly accredited with world class learning facilities.
He stated that Obong University provides quality education in the basic Sciences, Managemnet and Social Sciences, as well as Arts and Humanities in an environment of academic excellence.
On security, the VC assured that Obong University being a faith based institution is well secured and free from all manners of vices which are common in some public or private universities.
He added that the academic and management staff are people of high level of discipline and morality who are also determined to impart same on the students in the institution.
In his remarks, the Chairman Board of Governors, Obong University, Prof Moses Akpanudo said the idea to establish a university was borne out of the love and passion to promote Christian education and high moral standard for a better society
Prof Akpanudo stated that the institution also offers opportunities for spiritual growth and encouragement for entrepreneurial development.
Obong University which is the first private university in Akwa Ibom State and the first faith-based university relating to the Church of Christ was established and licensed in May 2007.
The university is located is located at Obong Ntak in Etim Ekpo which is about an hour drive from Uyo and about 30 minutes drive from Aba in Abia State.
