Nwawuba trains Mbaike women
The member representing Mbaitoli-Ikeduru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Henry Nwawuba, in conjunction with the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), organises a 3 day workshop for Mbaike Women and Young Ladies, on catering and cookery skills.
The workshop which started with tutorials at the Constituency Office of Rt Hon Henry Nwawuba, was later moved to Titanic View Hotels kitchen for practicals.
Rt Hon Henry Nwawuba organized the workshop pursuant to his ongoing programme of reducing unemployment and creating jobs for the teaming Mbaike youths.
The workshop seeks to impact entrepreneurial skills on the women and young ladies to enable them become self reliant, and create jobs. Participants were trained in cookery- continental dishes, and in pastries and confectioneries- cakes, meat pie, samosa, spring rolls etc.
In his address, the leader of the NIHOTOUR team, Mallam Ibrahim Baba, described Rt Hon Henry Nwawuba as a gold fish, and a goal getter, whose love for his constituents is unquenchable . Mrs Beatrice Oguntuase, a member of the NIHOTOUR team, recounted the efforts made by Rt Hon Henry Nwawuba in making the workshop a reality. She enjoined Ndi Mbaike to treasure what they have, adding that such gesture is not easy to come by.
At the end of the workshop, each of the participants recieved starter packs to take off their businesses, including opportunity to work in the hospitality and tourism industry.
The ladies sang and blessed Rt Hon Henry Nwawuba, for singling them out for such empowerment. They showed strong enthusiasms to put their acquired skills to productive ventures.
Highlight of the workshop was the presentation of Certificates of Participation to the participants by the Nigeria Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR).
