Obongawan Grace Ekidem: Ntisong eulogizes wife, says she was source of strength
Ntisong Ibibio III, Dr. Essien Ekidem has described his late wife, Obongawan Grace Ekidem as his pillar of strength and source of success.
He made the statement on Saturday,6th November 2021 at his palace in Uyo when he received a delegation from the Okon community of Eket LGA, who came to mourn with him over the death of his wife.
Ekidem, lamented that he still has not come to terms with the fact that his wife is dead, recalling how the late wife has always been supportive right from his days as maintenance Engineer in Calcemco cement, Calabar.
The revered Monarch, thanked the delegation from Okon Clan for the show of love during the trying period of his family and prayed to God to bless them.
Earlier, the proprietor of Monef Schools, Dr. Fabian Essiet who spoke on behalf of the delegation
sympathised with Ntisong Ekidem over the death of the wife whom he described as a virtuous woman who lived a life Worthy of emulation.
The indefatigable retired Permanent Secretary recounted how late Obongawan was always supportive of her husband and prayed God to grant Ntisong Ibibio and the larger family the fortitude to bear the loss.
The delegation from Okon had in attendance Dr. Fabian Essiet, the representative of the clan head,Chief Monday, former Chairman of Eket, Barr. Emmanuel Udo, Hon. Ekanem Willie, Lady Jane Akpan,Lady Sylvia Ekpo, Barr. Odudu Ekaete, Chief Victor Ubokudom,Group Captain E.M. Eno, Comrade Daniel Essien, Udeme Essien and, many others.
The burial ceremony of late Atai Obongawan Deaconess ( Mrs) Grace Ekidem will take place on Saturday,13th November, 201 at Quo Iboe Primary School, Okon by 11: 00 am.
