NNS Victory Commander Donates Chairs To C’River NUJ
In a bid to improve the working conditions of journalists in Cross River State, Commander Rotimi Oderemi of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Victory generously donated a dozen chairs to the Cross River State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The donation aimed to provide a more comfortable working environment for members of the fourth estate of the realm.
During the presentation of the chairs at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre in Calabar on Tuesday, Commander Oderemi expressed his appreciation for the efforts of NUJ members in covering activities of NNS Victory and promoting the unit positively.
He highlighted that the gesture was part of NNS Victory’s non-kinetic line of operation under ‘Operation Delta Sanity’ to strengthen collaboration with the NUJ.
“We believe in fostering greater collaboration with the NUJ, and this donation is just the beginning. We will continue to add more value to your Secretariat in the future,” Commander Oderemi stressed.
In her response, the State Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Archibong Bassey thanked Commander Oderemi and his team for their swift response to the NUJ Council’s appeal, acknowledging the essence and impact of the chair donation on improving the NUJ Secretariat in Cross River State.
Bassey noted that the gesture symbolized NNS Victory’s commitment to building a stronger relationship with the NUJ and enhancing the journalism profession in the state and the nation at large.
The visit by the Commander and his team to the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre was warmly received by NUJ members, and will further strengthen the collaborative efforts between NNS Victory and the NUJ in promoting development and professionalism within the media.
