Nkom calls for more support Governor Emmanuel, PDP
The Honourable Commissioner for Labour and Manpower Planning in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Aniefiok Isaac Nkom has called on political stakeholders in Ikot Ekpene to double their support to the State Governor and the Peoples Democratic Party for a sustained development and peace in the state.
The Commissioner made the call on Saturday at his country home, Mbiaso in Ikot Ekpene while playing host to political stakeholders in the Local Government Area.
The Labour Commissioner thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for finding him fit to serve in the State Executive Council and pledged to put in his best into the interpretation and implementation of the Completion Agenda of the Governor. He used the opportunity to appreciate the support and goodwill he enjoyed from Ikot Ekpene people during his House of Assembly aspiration and the rousing welcome he received from his people during his reception as Commissioner in the State Executive Council. He promised to reciprocate that gesture by being a good Ambassador at the state level.
Mr Nkom further appealed to the stakeholders to support pastor Umo Eno’s gubernatorial aspiration.
He noted that Pastor Umo Eno’s aspiration best defines the interest of the premier local Government Area and the state.
Responding on behalf of the political stakeholders, the Political Leader of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Senator Emmanuel Ibok Essien lauded the Commissioner for being able to bring Ikot Ekpene people together within two months of his appointment describing him as a focused grassroots mobilizer.
He called on the Honourable Commissioner to work hard to build confidence and gain the trust of his boss which according to the Senator will translate to goodwill for Ikot Ekpene Local Government.
He reiterated the resolve of Ikot Ekpene stakeholders to continue to support Governor Emmanuel and the Peoples Democratic Party at all levels.
Senator Ibok Essien,on behalf of the people prayed God to endow the Commissioner and sustain him beyond the present administration.
The breakfast meeting was well attended and had in attendance the Chairman of the Local Government Area, Obong Unyime Etim, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on SDGs, Ntufam Elijah Udoiyak, Chairman Ibom Power Company Board, Engr. Etido Inyang,Vice Chancellor,Akwa Ibom State University, Prof. Nse Essien,State Officer of PDP- Obonganwan Abigail Akpan, Chapter Secretary of the party,Hon. John Cleton Etim, former Assemblyman- Sir Isong Isang, former Council Chairman, Hon. David Umana, Chairman of Ward Chairmen in Ikot Ekpene, Mr. Idorenyin Mfon Okon, Elder Daniel Obot among other stakeholders.
