NAPPS Uyo Homecoming: New era berths in Akwa Ibom for Proprietors of Private Schools
A new dawn has come in the life of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in Akwa Ibom State.
This follows the reconstitution of the executive of the Uyo chapter of the Association led by Pastor Ubokmfon Williams.
Already the new executive has hit the ground running with events, plans and activities to revive the Association and restore its lost glory in Uyo, beginning with a Homecoming for members of the Uyo chapter of NAPPS on Thursday, 30th November, 2023
Tagged “Driving Change Among Education Innovators”, NAPPS Uyo Homecoming was predicated on fostering unity among NAPPS members.
Setting the tone for the event, the Chairman, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, NAPPS Uyo chapter, Pastor Ubokmfon Williams, posited that the new executive is poised to deliver on its promise to transform the Association.
He regretted that NAPPS had failed and neglected its members at all levels, stressing that NAPPS Uyo chapter has moved to change the narratives.
“”We promised you change and we will give you the change you deserve,” NAPPS Uyo chapter chairman noted.
He identified change, innovation, accountability and creativity as cornerstone of his administration, with a view to making NAPPS Uyo chapter the destination for South-South in terms of training, empowerment and welfare.
Pastor Ubokmfon Williams also pledged his administration’s readiness to stand by and fight for NAPPS members against individuals and institutions scheming to feast on private schools in the state.
Speaking on the objective of NAPPS the Assistant Secretary, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, Akwa Ibom State branch Pastor Ubon Inyang, harped on the need for networking, teamwork, personal development, professionalism, standardization, commitment and sacrifice, urging the new executive to prioritize the welfare of members.
In a keynote address on the theme of the event, the vice chairman, NAPPS Uyo chapter, Mrs Jane Eyo, noted that change has come in NAPPS Uyo chapter and challenged Proprietors of Private Schools to be ready to embrace the wind of change.
“Change starts with us as leaders and if we want to drive the change we must embrace the leaders within us by being intentional.
“Growth does not just happen. Improve on yourself if you want to drive the change in the education sector,” Mrs Eyo observed.
The vice chairman of NAPPS Uyo chapter warned Proprietors and owners of Private schools against the danger of assumption gap, knowledge gap, tomorrow gap, mistake gap, perfection gap, inspiration gap, compensation and expectation gap.
“Fear the fear factor especially fear of failure and making mistake; changing from accidental to intentional growth,” she added.
In a remark Pastor Kike congratulated the chairman and other members of the new executive for the initiative and charged them to sustain the tempo.
While admitting that there was so much to learn and enjoy from NAPPS Uyo chapter homecoming, Pastor Kike urged participants at the event to spread the good news.
