I’ll encourage entrepreneurship for wealth creation – Akase
A notable Peoples Democratic Party, PDP 2023 governorship aspirant in Benue State, Mr Terver Akase has reaffirmed hisreadiness to encourage entrepreneurship to drive his vision for wealth creation.
The immediate past Chief Press Secretary to the Governor spoke Tuesday, November 30, 2021 as Special Guest at the 13th Graduation and Prize Giving Ceremony organised by Sev-Av Foundation for graduands of the Foundation’s Skills Acquisition Centres held in Makurdi.
Mr Akase described job creation as the bedrock of economic development which has the potential to minimize insecurity and other societal ills.
He commended the Initiator and Founder, Architect Mrs Yemisi Suswam’s consistency in promoting economic self-reliance through programmes of Sev-Av Foundation and pledged to liase with the Foundation’s management to promote ICT amongst its trainees by donating some computers to the Foundation.
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom who graced the ceremony with his wife, Dr Mrs Eunice Ortom in a speech, commended Architect Mrs Suswam for empowering young people through the Foundation, saying she has sown seeds in the lives of the graduands, urging them not to despise their little begining.
Governor Ortom expressed his commitment to standing by the Foundation in its empowerment drive.
Wife of the Governor, Dr Eunice while presenting certificates to some graduands, described the Foundation’s programmes as life transforming for the beneficiaries, saying it would go a long way in shaping destinies.
In a remark, Senator for Benue North-East, Dr Gabriel Suswam appreciated Governor Ortom for personally attending the ceremony despite his busy schedule. He commended his wife’s resilience towards uninterrupted operations of the Foundation.
Senator for Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Moro represented by Hon James Uloko in a goodwill message, lauded the vision of Mrs Suswam which he said had kept the NGO running even after leaving office as First Lady.
Earlier, Chairman of the occasion, House of Representatives Member for Logo/Ukum/Katsina-Ala Federal Constituency, Dr Richard Gbande in an opening remark, commended the Founder of Sev-Av for her passion in building human capacity development for economic self-reliance.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Professor Bibiana Igbabul of Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi and former Executive Secretary of the State Hospitals Management Board, Dr Terver Tule.
The Founder and Chairman, Board of Trustees of Sev-Av Foundation, Architect Mrs Suswam thanked all who supported the NGO and admonished the graduands to trust in the Lord to accomplish their dreams and aspirations, while starter packs were presented to the best graduands.
