Calabar South Traditional Rulers Council Inaugurates Lands Arbitration Panel
The Paramount Ruler of the newly created Calabar South traditional ruler’s council, His Royal Majesty Etubom Nyong Effiom Okon has set up Arbitration Panel and Lands Arbitration Committee to oversee all land matters in the area.
Lands Arbitration Committee is chaired by His Royal Highness Muri Joseph Effiong Edem, while His Royal Highness Edem Ekpo Ironbar is the Vice Chairman, His Royal Majesty Etubom Effanga E. D. Henshaw was made the Secretary. Eleven other royal fathers were made members of the committee.
The Arbitration Panel is also headed by His Royal Highness Edem Ita Ephraim Adam, Vice Chairman of the Panel was given to His Royal Highness Muri Joseph Effiong Edem, while the Secretary of the Panel is Sir, Aloysius Eno Eyo Ita Eyo. Five other Royal fathers were appointed members of the Panel.
Speaking before their inauguration, the Paramount Ruler of Calabar South, His Royal Majesty Etubom Nyong Effiom Okon (JP) maintains that the era of land dispute has gone in Calabar South.
Stressing that the main aim of the two new communities is to settle all land matters which over the years has led to unending land disputes, coursing disharmony, and rangor among our people in Calabar South.
“I therefore charged you all to view this calling as a higher calling, I also charged you today to use every available effort at your disposal to nib those land challenges in the mud”
Speaking on behave of other committee members during the vote of thanks, His Royal Highness Etinyin Edem Ekpo Ironbar thanked the Royal Majesty for finding them worthy of the appointment, promising that they will not let the Calabar South people down.
He said they will ensure that they discharged their mandate without fear or favor.
The committees have since been given oaths of alliance on Wednesday at the Palace of the Calabar South Paramount Ruler.
