The governor who was quoting from the words of the 12th American President, J. S. Allison in his address said, “I have no private purpose to accomplish, no enemies to punish, no axe to grind, no animosity to entertain, no hatred to nurture.”
The governor stressed that he has no other propelling impulses than to serve the people of ths State to the best of his God’s given ability and also ensure a greater future for all Akwa Ibomites and the next generation.
While noting that 33 is a significant number, the governor believes that the 33 years of Akwa Ibom Anniversary will mark the beginning of the release to experience the fulfilment of the huge potentials as a state.
He also pray for the forgiveness of whatever sins the people may have committed and open a new chapter of development, continuous peaceful co-existence, of enduring love for one another.
The state chief executive called on the people to respect the state emblem, flag and creed which will serve as the collective identity of the people and the cords that bind people together while praying God to continue to remember the people with enduring favour, grace and salvation.
“Once again let us share the joy of this milestone. But let us remember that when the children of Isreal occupied the promised land, Caleb was not satisfied.
He said that as his strength was in the days of Moses so was his strength in the days of Joshua and he demanded for a mountain to be given to him.
“As our strength was when this State was created so is it now and he who brought us into this land shall give us every mountain that we want in this country -mountains of entrepreneurship, mountains of peace, mountains of prosperity, mountains of professional excellence and mountains of spiritual glory. Let’s celebrate while praying for the mountains tomorrow,” he remarked.
