Imo naming ceremony: The Biggest SCAM in Imo History
Monday, 4th January, 2022 was a remarkable day that has gone into world record as the most unfortunate day that Imo State recorded it’s all time biggest scam in history.
Recall that in previous press statements, governor Hope Uzodinma had made reassuring allegation that he knew the sponsors of insecurity in the state. Hence, swore to name them in what was tagged “Stake Holders Meeting” which held at the Exco Chambers of the Imo State government house Owerri.
It is pertinent to note that Hope Uzodinma did not just put Imo to shame in the face of the world, waiting patiently to know the backbone warlords of insecurity in Imo, but also seized the opportunity to pronounce what seems to be the biggest financial misappropriation scam in the history of the state, based on the following serious points to note:
1. The HORN News paper reveal headline this morning has it that Hope Uzodinma claims to have spent 270million naira Tax payers money on transportation of his invitees, that have no business in Imo State otherwise, called Stakeholders by Uzodimma. This is deep and and at the same time, unfortunate.
2. Hope Uzodimma laid claim to have empowered 30,000 Imo youths in the past two years with 8billion naira. Now the question is, who are these empowered youths and what genuine businesses that can boost economy of the state did they establish with such weighty funds?
At the moment, Imo is on Autopilot sorry to say. This is based on the clearly established fact that the (t)chief executive officer of the state has proven to be busy chasing more of shadows than delivering good governance to his people.
Those of use who took out time to listen to his speech at the naming ceremony event yesterday would attest to the fact that, it was glaring to everyone that Hope Uzodinma’s priority in Imo State is chasing his predecessor Rochas Okorocha around. Such unfortunate misused amount of time already spent in chasing shadows. Hear him:
1. In that meeting Hope revealed that OKOROCHA hasn’t allowed him to answer governor, and he (OKOROCHA) is out of office but still want to be in office. To the best of my knowledge, Rochas Okorocha has not interfered with Uzodimma’s government since he assumed office
2. “I am your elder brother, accord me some respect” – Uzodinma to Okorocha.
That was all. For such an all important insecurity sponsors naming meeting that costed the quoted whooping sum of #270 million naira just for transportation of invitees, had the eyes of the world waiting with all manner of anticipation and anxiety?
We all know how seriously matters that bothers on insecurity are being taking by the public and yet, governor Hope Uzodinma ended up dashing the hopes of his governed Imolites, over chasing clout.
Now tell me, should such a person be taken seriously again?
