Just a few days back, Imo was turned into a thanksgiving State where people blessed the name of God for the court judgment which is in favour of Dr. Philip Njemanze against the owner of Empire Petroleum.
Looking at the humongous investment sunk into that tourist of sort gasoline station, one will marvel at the loss, which is enough for the owner to take a dive and end it all. Such should not have been so if only we did not have a roguish family that steered the affairs of the State as though there are no laws.
I received that judgment with mixed feelings. I am happy for Philip Njemamnze for reclaiming his land but I was also sad that Empire group could lose such an A class investment because of a callous mindless mistaken politician who almost converted Imo commonwealth to a personal estate; and every citizen, a serf in his kleptocratic fiefdom.
This is one of the reasons Imo All Progressives Congress Stakeholders came together to ensure Governor Hope Uzodinma’s Recovery Agenda for stolen State’s own resources in any form and that of individuals are recovered.
Dr. Njemanze is one of the prides of Nigeria who has done well in the medical practice and is a world acclaimed scientist. He is one of the victims of Okorocha’s family kleptocratic reign. We bless God that the Njamanze family had the wherewithal to challenge the roguish gang led by Okorocha to court.
Prince Madumere and other Party stakeholders are worried that such a man could deceive the whole state in the name of God. They are worried about those poor families and individuals who may have given up faith because of lack of funds to pursue their justified cases to a logical conclusion. Pray, why would any man not support the 3Rs programme, which has Recovery as one of its cardinal agendas.
Reading another verbose weed inspired effort of Jones Onwuasoanya, hailing the former Governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha for his political misadventure; reeling out his achievements as a politician, I feel sorry for the future of Imo State and Nigeria at large. If such a blind nitwit could turn a blind eye to an inhuman institution of gangsterism as a government, then we better watch such a humanoid.
Why am I even expressing surprise? Yes, Onwuasoanya is known for what he is. He has only lasted with Okorocha because both of them have no grace to look at things without negative thoughts. That is to say that he is his true son in traits and culture. Therefore, when such people come up with worthy ideas, my brother run for therein lies a dangerous trap that may cause you your whole being.
Okorocha’s maverick gift from the devil can even deceive the angel if God Himself does not intervene. He is as patient as a bed bug, waiting for the right time to strike like a hungry viper. We still wonder how somebody could have such a gift to deceive even his closest allies for decades, singing my helper oo, my helper oo all around the state.
I know that God works in a mysterious way. That could be the reason he succeeded in his governorship bid. It is to serve as a hard lesson to Prince Madumere and other members of the APC stakeholders who yielded to his whims and caprices, not knowing the evil intents buried in that mind. Hence, the resolve of the Stakeholders to give Governor Hope Uzodinma the needed nerve to do whatever it takes to retrieve huge assets of the state fastened in Okorocha’s belly. It is a right step in the right direction, even if it means performing a laser surgery to hit that goal.
In reality, Okorocha has no business being in politics. He is no different from a hushpuppy whose stock in trade is always seeking opportunity to get the better of every folk who has any dealings with him.
From my predicate, it follows that Okorocha’s definition of politics means an act of deception, use and dump, blackmail, forceful take-over of people’s land, appropriating people’s salaries and pensions, using the name of God in vain, greed, and hate among other negative characters.
In that rat-race like diatribe, Okorocha and Onwuasoanya failed to acknowledge the fact that Okorocha never would have been an island. He forgot that the same Okorocha sought Prince Madumere’s help to get organized. He forgot that Jude Ejiogu was needed to take care of an interest. Like a blank mind, he failed to recognize those who gave him the needed advice to manage a situation. He never took cognizance of Theodore Ekechi who gave him the public confidence and masterly managed situations to keep him away from trouble. Okorocha failed to acknowledge the contributions of the same Madumere who gave him teeth to bite, gave him the needed administrative backing, managed the recruitment of best hands and then ensured that the good blueprints of policies and programmes to run with are designed and delivered to him.
In all these Okorocha had a wonderful start. Populism rented the space of the state. Everyone worked hard, spent energy, put their brain to work and put ideas together. Okorocha took all these for the purposes of invoking the spirit of deception. In Nigerian parlance; it is usually described, ‘all na scam’.
Today what Okorocha considered politics is the ability to kidnap Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, unleashing thugs and criminal elements on innocent people, using trigger happy hoodlums to maim and kill Imo people and abusing his powers to obtain people’s hard earned property by force. Of course that era is gone. So the so-called litany of achievements by Okorocha political is nothing but insults at the people of the state. Show me any Okorocha’s major project that has lasted for three months.
One of the major achievements is to ensure that the people of Ogboko, omumu-ishiaku and the entire Ideato North and South suffer. I was surprised that Okorocha could have the temerity to raise a voice of the devastation of his country home by erosion. This was a man who literally professed hatred to his people. He took their lands in the name of building schools. Those who refused to let go their land, he used tractors to create roads across their lands. The result is ecological problems everywhere.
I am ashamed that a young man who should be in the league of tomorrow’s leaders is this colourless, lacks intuition and cannot even understand anything at all, including a compass to a desired destination.
A word from GH Alfred Ononugbor, Okorocha’s Chief Protocol:
“I guess those that know Prince Eze Madumere and Rochas might not have access to the dialogue going on here. Prince was the Engineer of Rochas Media Image. He was strategic in the political existence of Owelle. It will be uncharitable for anybody irrespective of their interests to discredit Eze Madumere for political gains. His only offence is that he wanted his political life and I see nothing wrong with that. Whatever he gained from Rochas was due to his sacrifices, dedication and loyalty and not a reward from Rcohas”.
The same thing, perhaps, might be said of the majority of the stakeholders of Imo All Progressives Congress. Rochas should stop living in his irritating past for it will make no sense putting his past in proper perspective for it will only invoke anger in people that might consume him.
