Ikot Ekpene youths adopt Unyime Etim as leader
The youths of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area have mandated the Chairman of the local government Obong Unyime Etim to lead the youths structure into political inclusivity and progress.
The youths made this declaration during a youth meeting held at his residence in Ikot Ekpene on Monday.
The youths said their action was predicated on poor leadership and direction on the part of past leaders of the youths which resulted in deprivation of privileges accruing to the youths.
They described Obong Unyime Etim as a focused ,Liberal and committed leader who has the interest of ikot Ekpene youths at heart.
In a motion moved by Pastor Uko Michael and seconded by Itoro Akpan the youths threw their weight behind the leadership of Obong Unyime Etim.
Responding, Obong Unyime Etim said he was proud and at home with the youths himself being one of them and promised to give leadership and direction to the youths.
He charges ikot Ekpene youths to be law abiding, support the completion agenda well getting ready for windows of opportunity in empowerment.
He side he was ready to work with other youth leaders to chat a new course for the betterment of ikot Ekpene youths.
The meeting had in attendance leaders and youths drawn from National Youth Council, Youth Caucus, Dakkunyada Youths, Christian Youth, Mkparawa Martha Udom, Village Youth President among others
