Ikot Ekpene SD 2023: Deputy Governor, PDP Stakeholders congratulate Barr. Enoidem
Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District have congratulated the immediate past PDP National Legal Adviser, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem for emerging the party’s Senatorial District candidate for 2023 general elections.
The stakeholders also commended the party for conducting a free, fair and transparent primaries in the Senatorial District.
The Senatorial District primaries which took place at Ikot Ekpene Mini Stadium was adjudged the most peaceful, free and transparent by the stakeholders.
Speaking, the Akwa Ibom State deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo who described Barr Emmanuel Enoidem as a loyal and committed member of the Party who has contributed immensely to the growth and stability of PDP in the state and national in general since the establishment of the party in 1998 and so deserves the party’s ticket.
The Deputy Governor who also saluted other aspirants for the senatorial ticket for their courage, doggedness and charged them to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship by accepting the result and support the winner and the party to succeed in the forth coming election.
He asserted that God has blessed Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District with great men and women of integrity and loyalty adding that the zone believes in fairness and equity.
He added “his Senatorial District believes that your turn will come if you are steadfast in your support and what you do for the people of Ikot Ekpene SD.
Also, speaking the Chairman, Ibom Power Company, Engr Etido Inyang said Enoidem’s victory is a good omen for the party in the senatorial district and maintaining that his emergence as the party’s flag bearer is a reward of his loyal ty and contributions to the party.
In his acceptance speech, the winner of the PDP senate primaries for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem commended the delegates for finding him worthy to fly the party’s flag at the 2023 general elections.
He expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor of the state, Mr. Moses Ekpo and other stakeholders of the party in the zone for endorsing and supporting his aspiration.
“I’m going to treasure this for the rest of my life. I know I am going to the Senate because nobody who has ever gotten thr PDP Senatorial ticket has ever lost and I am not going to break that protocol,” he assured.
The National Chairman of Maintain Peace Movement, MPM, called on the other aspirants who contested the election with him to accept the out come of the primaries and return to the party so that they can work together for the party’s victory in 2023.
Barr Enoidem polled a total of 329 votes to emerge winner of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District PDP primaries while beating four other aspirants.
Other contestants for the Akwa Ibom North West (Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District) primary included Dr Saviour Enyiekere, Hon Akan Eyo, Mr Odoro Edwin and Chief Inibehe Okori.
A total of 334 delegates were qualified to vote out of which 333 were accredited for the exercise.
A breakdown of delegates from the 10 LGAs in the Senatorial District showed Ika – 31 delegates, Ikot Ekpene – 34, Abak – 34, Ini – 31, Essien Udim – 34, Etim Ekpo – 31, Oruk Anam – 40, Obot Akara – 31, Ukanafun – 34 and Ikono – 34 delegates making it a total of 333 delegates in all.
Observers of the primaries include process the State Deputy Governor, Pa Moses Ekpo, MFR, Senator Emmanuel IbokEssien, Senator Aloysius Etok, Rt Hon Udo Kerian Akpan, Hon Aniekan Umanah, Hon Uyime Idem, Dr Glory Edet, Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Sir Monday Uko, Essien Udim PDP House of Assembly candidate, Hon Barr Prince Akpabio, his Ikono counterpart, Hon Otoro Columber, the Akwa Ibom State PDP State Chairman, Rt Hon Elder Aniekan Akpan, the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom PDP Senatorial Primaries Committee, Barr Ayo, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Mr Borono Bassey, among others.
