Ikot-Ekpene Council Chairman Meets TRC
…hail royal fathers for sustaining peace in their domain
The Transition Committee Chairman,Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area, Sir. John Cleton Etim, has acknowledged the role of royal fathers in peace building, ensuring that rural communities are safe and secure.
At a meeting he held, Thursday with the Ikot Ekpene Traditional Rulers Council, Sir. John Etim appreciated the traditional rulers for their cooperation and support to his administration, and particularly praised their effort in sustaining peace and keeping their various domain safe and secured.
The Council boss further charged the traditional rulers to always be security conscious and also keep sensitizing their subject on the advantages of a crime free society, noting that it is only when this happens that development can be attracted to rural areas.
He solicited their continuous support, assuring of his administration’s commitment to the development of the local government area.
In attendance at the meeting were the Paramount Ruler of Ikot Ekpene, His Royal Majesty Okuku Okon Udo Ukut, who also double as Chairman, Ikot Ekpene Traditional Rulers Council, and other traditional rulers from the forty seven villages that makes up Ikot Ekpene.
The Ikot Ekpene Paramount Ruler had commended the Council Chairman for deeming it fit to meet the TRC, and assured of the support of the royal fathers towards the success of his administration.
Also, the Clan Head of Ikot Ekpene, Chief Akpan Offong Udoidiong, and others who spoke, said they were impressed with the leadership style of the Chairman and his team, and pledged their unalloyed support and cooperation.
They prayed for the Chairman and wished the Council boss more grace as he leads Ikot Ekpene.
