Ibom Towers in Lagos: Gov Eno Explains Economic Benefits of Project, calls for support
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has outlined the various benefits of the proposed Ibom Towers to be sited in Lagos State. Addressing critics, the governor stressed that their opposition stems from a lack of understanding regarding the project’s usefulness and strategic location.
Governor Eno stated that situating the project in Lagos, the commercial hub of Nigeria, is a deliberate move to promote the socio-economic development of Akwa Ibom State and generate significant revenue through rents. He called for public support and cooperation to realize the project, assuring that the government has good intentions and will manage the generated resources effectively.
He further explained that establishing the project in Lagos was also a strategic decision to secure the land purchased by the previous administration noting that government has been struggling to safeguard the land from potential revocation of its Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).
The governor urged Akwa Ibomites to continuously support and cooperate with his administration’s ARISE Agenda, highlighting the administration’s commitment to the state’s development.
He pointed to the administration’s rural development, security initiatives and agricultural renaissance as evidence of its genuine intentions.
Governor Eno also encouraged the people to embrace the administration’s back-to-farm initiative, which aims to ensure food sufficiency and availability in Akwa Ibom State.
