Ibom Deep Seaport: Akwa Ibom delegation makes presentation in South Korea
Members of the Akwa lbom State Delegation to the Maritime Sector and Harbor Development programme in South Korea today made a presentation of Ibom Deep Seaport and Ibom Industrial City to the Management of Busan Port Authority (BPA).
The delegation led by the Chairperson of the Technical Committee for the Realisation of Ibom Deep Seaport, Mrs. Mfon Usoro, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem-SSG and MR Akan Okon Commissioner for Economic Development and lbom Deep Seaport made the presentation to the Management of Busan Port Authority (BPA), led by the Vice President Global Division/ Head of overseas Business Department, KOO Ja-rim, Lee Se-Jin, Associate Manager Overseas Business Department and
SEO Yeong- Man, Deputy Manager Overseas Business Department.
BPA is a state- owned company under the Ministry of Ocean and Fisheries lunched in January 2004 for the development, operation and management of Busan Port. The Port is the Gate way of NE Asia, next to China, Japan and Russia, with a water depth of 17m- 18m.
With about 132,134 employees, Busan Port is the second largest transshipment hub port in the world with 279 weekly liner connectivity service. It is currently investing in 3 projects in progress in Netherlands, Spain and Indonesia.
