Ibom Community Watch: Gov Umo Eno launches new security outfit in Akwa Ibom

In a move to enhance the security landscape of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Umo Eno has launched a new security outfit “Ibom Community Watch” in the state.
The event which took place at the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Thursday,
According to the governor, ICW is an Akwa Ibom State security outfit aimed at fortifying the safety and well-being of the citizens.
The governor added that the security outfit is set to address various security challenges faced by the State, ranging from petty crimes to more complex threats.
The security outfit has Isantim Kenneth Okon as the pioneer Commander.
Okon is a seasoned politician, a renowned community leader, a youth friendly gentleman and a foremost grassroot mobilizer, who has traversed all the nooks and crannies of the State and beyond.
“I am sure you will use your wealth of experience to foster a collaborative effort between the government, law enforcement agencies, and local communities, by encouraging community members to actively participate in ensuring their own safety” the Governor remarked
