Akwa Ibom NUJ State Working Committee endorses Helen Udofa’s candidature
As the National Election of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) draws nearer, the State Working Committee (SWC), Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council has risen in support of the candidature of Comrade Helen Udofa (Pioneer Chapel) as she vies for the post of the Secretary General.
The state chairman of the Union, Comrade Amos Etuk made the position of SWC known when Comrade Helen Udofa led by her campaign manager, Comrade Uduak Ekong consulted the leadership of the Union.
He described Comrade Helen Udofa as a diligent, hardworking, result oriented and committed member of the Union whose wealth of experience as a Journalist over the years cannot be taken for granted.
He maintained that the endorsement was in tandem with the decision of the Zonal body of the Union and assured that Comrade Udofa will deliver effectively and efficiently on her assignment if voted into the office of the Secretary.
Also speaking the state Secretary of AK NUJ Comrade Dominic Akpan who is also a member of Pioneer Chapel, described Comrade Udofa as a Boss and Colleague who has added value to the Corporation over the years through hard work and called on all women Journalists nationwide to vote for Comrade Helen Udofa as the National Secretary.
In her response Comrade Helen Udofa thanked the SWC for the endorsement and the confidence repose on her, with a pledge not to disappoint the Union when voted into office come November 2020 in Minna, Niger State.
