Glory Edet’s 2023 ambition sets Ikono/Ini on warpath

Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency is boiling again as stakeholders take on one another in war of war words, allegations and interests.
At the centre of the crisis is the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Glory Edet over her Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency ambition in 2023.
Trouble began to brew when Dr. Glory Edet alledgedly invited Mr Inibehe Umah, SSA to the Governor Udom Emmanuel on Grassroots Mobilization, Mr Inibehe Umah, a native of Ikpe 2, Ini, to her Ewet Housing residence to consult him on her intentions to contest for Ikono/Ini Federal House position in 2023.
The allegation, which has been making rounds on social media with the heading, “War in Ini Local Government Area”, accused the Commissioner for Agriculture of setting Ikono/Ini on warpath.
In a rejoinder, Ndarake Okpo,
Coordinator, Concerned Citizens of Ikono/Ini, described the publication as malicious and an attempt to blackmail Dr Glory Edet.
“Setting the records straight, we wish to state that;
“The report is false and a failed attempt by some disgruntled elements whose intent is to threaten the existing peace enjoyed in Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency.
“The said Inibehe Umah has been attending most of the empowerment programmes organised by the Hon. Commissioner, hence, it is senseless for him to fill he can gain favour by insulting a woman of integrity.
“The blood brother of Inibehe Umah is one of the Ward Executive members of the party ,so mentioning that Inibehe has not been carried along is funny.
“Inibehe Umah should be ashamed that as an SSA to the Governor on Grassroots Mobilization, he has reduced himself to the level of an errand boy to be paid little money by desperate aspirants to attack the image of Dr Glory Edet.
“The paid publication is targeted by desperate and threatened aspirants to tarnish the image of a mother who has done credibly well for the people of Ini and Ikono as well as the state at large
“Inibehe Umah and his sponsors have failed in their calculated plans because Dr Glory Edet is a destined child and cannot be moved by cheap blackmail.
“Ikono/Ini Federal Constitutuency is well aware of the atrocious disposition of the cheap blackmail ambassadors and can therefore not take them seriously.
“We wish to inform Inibehe Umah and his sponsors that Dr Glory Edet will continue to do what she knows best to do for her people and when the time is nigh, the cat will be let out of the bag as POWER BELONGS TO GOD,” Ndarake Okpo and hie Concerned Citizens of Ikono/Ini said in a statement.
Reacting to the statement a frontline Campaign flagship for Governor Udom Emmanuel, UDOM IS RIGHT ORGANIZATION in Ikono/ Ini Federal Constituency led by Itohowo Edem accused the “face group of “deliberate manipulation of facts and lies just to fester a highly toxic and poisoned ambition of one person, Glory Edet’, alledging that the Dean, College of Commissioners has personalsed government appointment and empowerment meant for Ini to her House of Representatives ambition.
“We want to challenge Dr. Glory Edet, their Principal, to publish a personal rejoinder to say she did not invite the SSA to her house on the 4th of March 2021 to consult him for House of Representatives seat, a period during which the state and the party were mourning and the leader of the Party is concentrating on the Completion Agenda.
“So Dr.Glory Edet‘s personal agenda is more important to her than the Governor’s own. We wish to re- affirm that the consultation took place where some of Udom is Right members were witnesses to the incident in her new house in Ewet Housing Estate”
“Are they saying that the efforts of Udom is Right Organization: campaigning in the 31 LGAs for both elections is for Dr. Glory Edet to mischievously select Comrade Umah’s brother for the position of Assistant Organizing Secretary ( a non Statutory position) as a reward for for his work?
“When did Dr. Glory Edet become a politician? Apart from establishing a rumour and blackmail factory, paying women to clap for her in every events she attends, which other thing or legacy will Dr. Edet leave behind?
