Former Ukana Poly Rector, Ukekpe, 3 others Ordained Elders of Qua Iboe Church
Former Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ukana, Dr. Uduak Sunday Ukekpe was among the four deacons ordained elders of the Qua Oboe Church Nigeria Udi, Ikot Akpanawan Area Conference last Sunday.
Performing the ordination, the General Superintendent/ Conference Chairman Qua Iboe Church, Rev Ekpedeme Moffat Effanga charged the ordinance to see their ordination as a call to serve God and humanity and prayed God to grant them the grace to carry out their assigned task to the glory of God and for the betterment of the congregation.
In his sermon, the Area Superintendent/Area Chairman Rev. Dr. Victor Philip, speaking on the topic ” Elders are God’s gift to the Church” drawn from Titus 1vs 5-16 urged the church to place value on what they have, noting that elders were special gifts to the church.
He called on the newly ordained elders to live above board and in line with scriptural precepts arguing that there were spiritual and physical rewards for those who serve well.
Others, ordained along with Dr. Ukekpe are , Engr. Ofonime Udoeko, Elder Ini Peter Akpan and Elder Francis Asuquo Oyoh.
Responding on behalf of the ordinance, Elder Dr. Uduak Ukekpe thanked the Church for deeming them fit for the service. He pledged that they will contribute spiritually and physically to the growth and development of Qua Iboe Church while urging the congregation to support them in prayers.
High points of the celebration witnessed presentation of gifts to the newly ordained elders and fund raising for the church project.
The event was well attended by personalities across all spectrums of the society.
