Former NDDC boss, Effiong Akwa condemns call for interim government
The former Interim Administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Effiong Akwa has described those calling for interim government in Nigeria as the real enemies of the country. He noted that losing an election should not generate unnecessary issues to the point of trying to cause unnecessary tension in the country.
Speaking with selected newsmen in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital last Monday, Effiong Akwa said that only one winner can only emerge in an election, which he said Ahmed Tinubu emerged the winner with a clear margin and a convincing gap.
Speaking further, Effiong Akwa said, “We’ve seen and heard people calling for interim government because they lost their bid to become the president of Nigeria during the last general elections. They even went as far as inviting the military to take over, which is uncalled for. Election is not a do-or-die affair. People should learn to accept defeat, other than acting in such a childish manner capable of destroying the country,” he said.
