FEDPUKA: Staff, Students Celebrate Rector on Birthday
The Staff and Students of Federal Polytechnic, Ukana celebrates their Rector Dr. Uduak S. Ukekpe on his birthday, describing the beauty of his birthday celebration as not in the number of years lived but in the indelible marks he has made, the quality of service he has rendered and the people he has touched in the course of his journey through life.
The Public Relations Officer of the Polytechnic Mr. Manasseh Umoette made this statement while addressing Staff and Students during the surprise birthday ceremony held in the office of the Rector at the Main Campus of the Polytechnic.
He emphasized that the reason for the celebration is to appreciate the Rector for the giant strides he has achieved since he came on board as Rector and his passion for human capital development which has been beneficial to almost all the Staff with some even proud to have attended international Conferences on several occasions.
According to the Staff, his iconic journey as a seasoned Scientist and distinguished academic has crested him out as a shining star among his peers and an invaluable mentor to the upcoming ones.
Responding, Dr. Ukekpe, expressed surprise towards the birthday celebration and admitted that the show of love was massive.
“” I am grateful to God that I have people like you, who love me, that keep me going as a person. I love you all as well. I want to use this opportunity to apologize to anyone who feels I am putting too much work on him or her, it’s not my fault, I just want things to be done the right way and by capable hands, so forgive me ” he said.
“”As for the students, all modalities have been put in place to give you the best education, moreso, a state of the arts female hostel which will soon be commissioned will make the institution the envy of all,” he promised.
As a mark of honour to celebrate the excellence of the Rector, Staff and Students presented their cakes respectively.
They prayed that Almighty God continue to bless the work of his hands, and prayed the Rector continues to flourish with unassailable greatness, loyalty to structure and process, zeal for desirable ends, and understanding that will spur him to greater heights.
