He pledged the unalloyed support of the Council to the police force to succeed in crime fighting and maintenance of law and order in the area while charging the police to do more to reciprocate the governor’s gestures.
“The Governor has done so well in fighting crimes in the state. Recently he donated some vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force for crime fighting in which one of those vehicles was given to Essien Udim Division.
“We in Essien Udim are very proud of the governor, so to compliment his efforts in fighting crime we have donated a borehole water system and a modern toilet system to the Police division in Essien Udim.

The Chairman, who lamented the challenges faced by the officers in the division as result of lack of some basic and social amenities such as water and toilet, wondered why police officers who laboured to ensure peace and tranquility in the area should be allowed to face such hardship and humiliation.
“How can the Police Force function well in this kind of condition?” he decried.
The Essien Udim Divisional Police Officer, CSP Samuel Isiek who commended the Council Chairman for his gestures said that the donation will boost the morale of the officers in the station to give in their best.
