Cross River State is going to be rich again – Governor-elect assures
Following the overwhelming support that leads to his victory at the just concluded governorship election in Cross River State, the governor-elect, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu has assured the Crossriverians and other supporters that he will make the state rich again.
Senator Otu gave the assurances over the week at the 2023 APC governorship campaign office, Mutalla Mohamed Highway, Calabar, as he delivered his victory speech to the party faithful and other supporters.
His words, “When we had Jagaban in office, and I too in the office, just use your eye and watch what is going to happen”
“The economic prosperity that is here in Cross River State is going to be in its ascendancy. We have already promised what we are going to do”.
“There are too many parties in their different locations. So I will move to another location, but as I move, continue to have me in your prayers”
‘I will also have you in my prayers. We don’t want to lose anyone because we want you to stay alive and watch what is going to happen”
“They said Cross River is poor, Cross River State is going to be rich, and I have that key. Both as a game changer and business enabler to change Cross River State”
Earlier, the governor-elect invites his fellow contestant to join him in building the state together.
He said, “We are still going to work together as a people, and I promise you, we have decided on things to do”
“Tonight is a night of victory. Tonight to enjoy ourselves. I will not bother you too much again with our campaign promises, but what we have said, we are assured we are going to do them”
“Let me also thank my opponent who we were in this race together. I want to assure them that there is no viçtor no vanquish”
“We share a common ground and that common ground was service to Cross River State.
I want to appeal to all of them with open arms, with very warm felicitations that let us come together so we can build Cross River State”.
“What I promise was that the moment we have Jagaban in office, and I am in the office, know that our problem is solved” Senator Otu declared”
The elected governor acknowledged the supremacy of God as being the root key to the success of the entire electoral process and his victory.
He said, “Let me acknowledge the supremacy of our creator He is the key to the success of the entire process, what I want to assure you all today is that God is supreme, in that when the righteous rule, the people rejoice, and this government is going to touch everybody. For those who know me know that my words are my bound”
“I have seen the anger in our land, I have seen the frustrations, I have seen the desperation, I have seen the sick, I have seen all sorts. But there will come a time that that will be no more, for the Egyptians we see today we will see them no more”
Cross River State is coming to the session of prosperity. Don’t forget I have been in public office before, I did not let my people down. I did my very best to change the people”. The people’s governor said.
The elected governor who is known by his people as “the Sweet Prince” posited that his main reason for joining the politics has been to build the people.
“My main commission into politics is to build men and women, the aged and the young people. If I did what I did last time without a budget how much more what is going to happen now?
On commending the state chapter of the party the All Progressives Congress, APC, whose platform he became elected he opined that,
“My party, I want to thank you very much from the bottom of my heart, you have just been wonderful”
“I know the difficulties, I know the problems, I know the issues you went through. We have quarrelled to disagree, but today we have achieved our purpose and our objective is fulfilled”
“I wish to thank our amiable governor Ben Ayade. If he was not a man of moral justice, this governorship wouldn’t have come to the South. I tell you our state would not be the same again” he assured.
