Cross River State government to host Investment Summit
Cross River State Government is organizing a two-day International investment summit to lure International investors into the state.
The summit is scheduled to be held at the Calabar International Convention Center (CICC) on the subject; “The Paradigm Shift” which will take place from August 30th to 31st.
Morenews reports that the keynote speakers at the summit will be Dr. Herbert Wigwe, CEO of Access Holdings Plc; Mr. Lamine Barrow, General Manager of the African Development Bank (AFDB) of the Nigeria Country Office.
Other resource persons expected at the summit include. Olagunyu Ashimolovo, vice president of food management Economic Community Bank of West African States (ECOWAS), among 18 other officials from around the world.
Speaking to journalists in Calabar on Monday, Victor Edet, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said that in addition to outstanding speakers from around the world, the summit will be attended by organizations and International Development Agency.
Mr. Edet also expresses optimism that top leaders of industries from around the globe will attend the conference.
In his words, he said, “The summit will help in strengthening the Small and Medium Enterprises, (SMEs) and infrastructural development in emerging markets.
“It will help in attracting Investment to the state and countering regional insecurity for sustainable growth.
“Also, it will promote international cooperation and enable the government to identify innovative solutions to solve the development challenges confronting the state among others,” he stressed.
Mr. Edet uses the opportunity to encourage government officials, industry leaders, researchers, political leaders, business organizations, and universities to register online and attend the summit via the website.
