C’River women Affairs boss to reposition ministry
Ms Edema Erom, Cross River State Commissioner for Women Affairs reiterated commitment to reposition the ministry just as she tasked staff on hard work, dedication to duties.
The commissioner dropped the charge on Monday during her first meeting with the staff of the ministry, stressing that timeliness to duty will enhance service delivery and foster growth.
Her words, “Let us see our task here as trust work and work as a team, for these are the only ways to achieve goals and expected result”.
“If you do not know how to come early, please come early, Let’s build this place together, drive the processes together, and learn to trust ourselves”
According to the commissioner, she opined that she is a daughter of Grace stressing that she never lobbied to become a commissioner, maintaining that she only waited for God-appointed time and guidance.
“When you do what is right, do your job efficiently, and stay away from gossip and other ill words that tarnish the image of others, God who sees all will reward you”
“All you need to do is to work hard, be punctual to your duty post, avoid back-biting, and then you will see God’s grace as he lifts you in your career,” she maintained.
The commissioner also praised the staff’s efforts that led to the successful conclusion of the 23rd Regular National Council Meeting on Women’s Affairs held in the state a few days after the oath of office.
Before this, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Alice Egbe, assured the commissioner that the staff would not lose focus in their area of responsibility, but would ensure that they redouble their efforts to reposition the ministry.
“We prayed for God to give us a compassionate commissioner who has the heart of a mother and interest for women and children, and we are glad that our Creator answered us.
“Be rest assured that we will not disappoint you as all hands will be on deck as we always have done, even as we continue to work as a team,” Dr. Egbe said.
After her first meeting with the entire staff, the commissioner proceeded to another meeting with the management staff to figure out how to positively transform the ministry for optimum growth, she, therefore tasked staff with punctuality and mutual trust.
