C’River: Ayade presents N330B proposed budget for 2023, “Quantum Infinitum”
Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prof. Ben Ayade has presented N330Bn as the 2023 appropriation budget to the State House of Assembly, describing the Budget as “Quantum Infinitum”.
During the breakdown, governor Ayade stated that N130Billion is for the recurrent expenditure, while N200Bn is for the capital expenditures.
He said, “N130Bn which represents 31% would be used to settle workers’ salaries, gratuities and other needs of government, while N200Bn which represents 61% would be Channel for outstanding projects back upon by his administration.
Governor Ayade explained that the appropriation budget is citizens-oriented, saying citizens have to be carried along.
He said the government will embark on massive recruitment to replace the current workforce.
His words, “There is a need for massive recruitment now so that the new people can understand those who are leaving. “”By early next year, about 85% of the workforce in the Cross River State civil service will be retired from the service, so there is an urgent need for massive recruitment” the governor focused stressed.
Maintaining that his government would use the remaining laps of his administration to focus strictly on Agro industrialisation drive.
He said, “The nation has failed us, upon the abundant human and natural resources which the country is endowed with we still have a long way to go, the problem of the country is madness, we must therefore arise and build a nation of our dream,” the governor said.
