Governor Emmanuel tasks new commissioners on creativity, diligent service
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has charged the newly sworn-in Commissioners on diligent service in the discharge of their duties.
Governor Emmanuel also urged the newly appointees to shun self agrandizement but work for the interest of the 7.2 million Akwa Ibom people whom they have sworn to serve.
The Governor was speaking earlier today, Monday 4th January, 2021 at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, during the swearing-in of four new Commissioners and five new Permanent Secretaries in furtherance of the Completion Agenda of his second term administration.
He advised the Commissioners not to be deterred by criticisms from different quarters but to bring to bear their wealth of experience as expressed in their resumè in their contributions towards the success of the Completion Agenda.
The Governor congratulated the newly sworn-in Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries and urged those who couldn’t make it as Permanent Secretaries to brush up for another opportunity emphasizing that, it wouldn’t be proper to appoint a 21st century Permanent Secretary who is still in the mould of a 19th century Permanent Secretary.
Those sworn-in as Commissioners included: Uko Udom SAN, Dr. John James Edet, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet and Pastor Umo Eno. The five Permanent Secretaries on the other hand included: Mr. Ini James Ikie, Dr. Ini Jackson Etukudo, Mrs. Esther Aniekan Inyang, Mrs. Grace Paulinus Jim and Mrs. Abasiekeme Victor Essien.
We join all right thinking Akwa Ibom people to congratulate the newly appointees and wish them success in their new offices.
