Antai: Sen Akpabio’s loyalist rejects Buhari’s appointment as NOUN External Board Member
The Knight of John Wesley, Rt. Hon. Victor Antai has rejected his appointment as an External Board Member of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
Victor Antai who is one of the core loyalist of the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio is a two time commissioner and tow-term council Chairman of Mbo local government area of Akwa Ibom State.
A release issued by his team of Media Officers led by Ezekiel Ibok confirmed that Antai is unwilling to accept the appointment.
The release stated that Antai is refusing the offer on personal grounds and would issue a follow-up release in the days to come.
A very creative politician who served meritoriously when he was pushed into the Culture and Tourism Ministry, Antai maintained unmatched record of service under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) until his resignation in August 2018.
Antai tendered his resignation as honourable commissioner on Culture and Tourism on Monday, August 6, 2018 to join the his benefactor, Senator Godswill Akpabio who defected to the APC and was being received on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
He was the Commissioner Designate representing Akwa Ibom State in the Niger Delta Development Commission, until it was unceremoniously desolved by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
