Akwa Ibom religious leader holds prayer meeting
The Akwa Ibom State Spiritual Fathers of Faith Forum, an umbrella body of Church heads and Senior Pastors, is set to forge a greater unity in the Body of Christ in Akwa Ibom State.
As a result, the Akwa Ibom State Spiritual Fathers of Faith Forum which is chaired by His Eminence Dr. Sunday Mbang CON, the Prelate Emeritus, Methodist Church of Nigeria, is holding a Statewide Prayer Rally this week Thursday 27th January, 2022 with the theme; Finishing Strong.
The Mega Prayer Rally will hold 10am at the Cathedral of Believers Assembly (Evang) Nigeria, behind the Dakkada Secretariat, by Oron Road, Mbiabong Etoi, Uyo.
The Prayer Rally hosted by His Eminence Dr. Sunday Mbang CON, alongside his Co-chair of the Fathers of Faith Forum, Prelate Prof Isaiah Issong, will feature eminent and renowned international Gospel icon, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, as the Speaker.
Announcing the Statewide Prayer Rally, His Eminence Dr. Sunday Mbang CON, informed the Fathers and Church heads present at a pre- Prayer Rally meeting, that the Prayer Rally was necessitated by the need to pray for the continued peace in Akwa Ibom State, unity of the Body of Christ, cohesion of all ethnic groups in the State and for a resounding success of the Completion Agenda of the Deacon Udom Emmanuel’s administration.
Dr. Sunday Mbang,CON, a former national president of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), former International president of World Council of Churches and Co- Chair of the nation’s Interfaith council, alongside the Sultan of Sokoto, reinstated his fervent love for the Church in Akwa Ibom State, his resolve to forge unity in the Body of Christ and determination to ensure that peace, unity and infrastructural development remain the cardinal objectives of good governance.
Re – affirming the forum stance against violence, he urged all Church heads, pastors and Christians of all denominations to mobilize their members for the Mega Prayer Rally, adding that the Fathers of Faith Forum was prepared to pray and work hard for peace and mutual co-existence of all citizens. He urged all citizens to respect the tenet of peace and mutual coexistence of the State.
Speaking also, Prelate Prof. Isaiah Issong, urged Christians to be courageous and not be despaired in the face of current challenges, as he declared: “Don’t fear, don’t shake, don’t quake.”
He urged Christians to come out enmasse for the Mega Prayer Rally, as according to him, the event will set a tone for the unity of the Body of Christ in Akwa Ibom State.
Meanwhile, the forum has invited the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and all bloc heads of CAN, members of the Civil Society, Inter Ethic Groups and all Akwa Ibomites to the mega prayer rally.
