Akwa Ibom: Pastor Umo Eno inaugurates Review Committee for Draft Bill on Water Resources Management
The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Lands and Water Resources, Pastor Umo Eno has inaugurated a nine man Committee for the review of draft bill on Water Management in the State.
The members of the committee includes; Engr. Edo Etuk – MD Akwa Ibom Water Company Limited, as Chairman, Engr. Idongesit Ido – Ag. General Manager (AKRUWATSAN), Elder Nse Ekpoataha – Director Water Resources, and Mr. Akaninyene Isok – Project Office/Small Towns as members.
Other members include; Mr. Saviour Udoh – AKRUWATSAN, Barr (Mrs.) Ime Mfon Obot – Ministry of Justice, Barr Imaobong Effiong – Akwa Ibom Water Company Limited, Mr. Iboro Peter Udo – Assistant Director, MLWR, and Barr (Mrs.) Emma Udonsek – Director Legal, MLWR.
Inaugurating the committee, the Commissioner, Pastor Umo Eno said it was expedient to have the water bill within the shortest possible time, adding
that it has been at the draft stage for long hence the need for a review in line with present day realities.
While congratulating the committee members, he noted that they were given two weeks to present the report of their review for further actions.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Committee, Engr Edo Etuk thanked the Commissioner for the opportunity to be part of the review process for a water bill in the State and assured that the committee will do its best to deliver on set target.
Present at the inauguration were the Permanent Secretary – TPL Aniekan Akpan, Director Administration and Supplies – Mrs Bella Akpannyah and others.
