Akwa Ibom NULGE Appreciates Governor Umo Eno Over Improved Workers’ Welfare.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno has been presented with a formal note of thank you and appreciation from the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Akwa Ibom State Chapter for his commitment to fulfilling the Union’s Charter of Demands during NULGE’S 2024 Week.
In a thank you rally to the Governor held in Uyo, yesterday, the NULGE President, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Comrade Anestina Iwe, expressed deep gratitude for the Governor’s responsiveness to the Local Government Workers’ concerns, saying that the Governor’s efforts had been instrumental in improving workers’ welfare in the State.
Describing His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno as a worker-friendly Governor, a father, and a man of his word, the NULGE State President commended the Governor for his unwavering dedication to improving the working conditions of Local Government employees.
Comrade Iwe noted that the fulfilment of the Charter of Demands by the Governor represents a significant milestone for local government employees, ensuring a more productive and motivated workforce.
The Governor’s intervention in clearing the arrears owed Local Government Workers and Retirees, according to her, demonstrates his genuine commitment to the well-being of Local Government Workers.
In his response, Governor Umo Eno expressed his gratitude to the Union for the recognition and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the welfare of local government workers. He stated that the Government would continue to prioritize the needs of workers to foster efficient service delivery.
Governor Eno who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, emphasized the crucial role local government employees play in the development of the state, describing them as essential partners in the realization of the State’s ARISE Agenda.
Prince Uwah in the company of the Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien with other dignitaries, reiterated the administration’s commitment to the welfare of the local Government Workers’ and commended NULGE for their dedication to service.
The rally in honour of His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, was one of the highlights of the 2024 Local Government Workers’ week celebration drawing a large crowd of Local Government Employees from across the 31 Local Government Areas of the State which featured colourful displays, solidarity songs, and banners expressing appreciation to the Governor for his efforts.
