The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has named Mr Ini Ememobong as the new Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state.
Until this appointment, Mr Ememobong was the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Comrade Ini Ememobong was inaugurated today along side seven other nominees into governor Emmanuel’s cabinet.
The lawyer turned politician has replaced Mr Charles Udo who has been redeployed to the Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources.
Meanwhile, there is serious jubilation in the air in celebration of this appointment especially in the media community who see him as a partner in progress.
Speaking with Morenews via telephone, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Comrade Amos Etuk, described the new Commission as a partner and ally in the media profession.
Expressed optimism that the Commission has come to add more content to the completion agenda of governor Emmanuel.
Ini Ememobong is one of the most vibrant young politicians in Akwa Ibom State with wonderful tract record of hardwork and loyalty to the government and his party.
The Ibiono born politician has brought a new face to politics in Akwa Ibom State, while he serving as ths spokesman of his party,Ini Ememobong used that platform to rebuild and market the party and also instituionalize PDP in Akwa Ibom State. He was one of the most outspoken and eloquent publicity secretary of the party in the state since its establishment in 1999.
Comr. Ini Ememobong first served in Gov. Emmanuel’s government as Special Assistant on Political Matters, before proceeding to become state Publicity Secretary of PDP.
He has also served in the previous government administration of the State as Special Assistant on Students Affairs to then Governor Godswill Akpabio after his tenure as President, National Association of Nigerian Students.
The new cabinet of governor Emmanuel will now have Dr Glory Edet as Commissioner for Agriculture while Dr Ini Adiakpan as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Professor Eno Ibanga, the immediate past Vice Chancellor of the State University as Commissioner for Works and Fire service.
Others are Professor Augustine Vincent Umo as Commissioner for Health, Dr Imo Moffat, Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mrs Enobong Mbobo, Commissioner for Education, and Mr Frank Archibong, Ministry of Local Govdrnment and Chieftaincy Affairs.
