Akwa Ibom Guber: ACA anoints OBA as Choice Candidate
…says OBA’s choice is divinely orchestrated

After years and months of prayer meetings held to seek God’s direction, lead and guidance on whom to support for the 2023 governorship election, the Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly (ACA) has officially presented and anointed the YPP governorship candidate, Obong Bassey Albert as it’s authentic choice for the hilltop mansion, come March 11, 2023.
The Assembly announced Senator Bassey Albert as God’s choice and made known their unanimous acceptance of OBA on Sunday, March 5, 2023, when they gathered for their prayer meeting at Destiny Mission Global Assembly, in Uyo.
Speaking at the event, ACA’s President, Archbishop Cletus Bassey described OBA’s choice as God’s arrangement, saying that God never makes a mistake.
“I’m standing here because this is where God called me and this altar has never sold me out. Our action is borne out of conviction, not financial influence or bargain”, he said.
He charged the leadership of ACA across the 31 Local Government area of the State and all Akwa Ibomites to vote conscientiously at the March 11 election, and particularly for OBA, adding that it would pay in the end.
“This is no time to collect money and sell your conscience. It is not the time to count in dollars or go after monies that cannot pay your rent and take care of your children. It is the time to decide for what’s just and true”, he stated.
Maintaining that ACA is not against anybody or their ambition, the former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Akwa Ibom State chapter stressed that they were only pitching their tent with their preferred.
“Every man has the right to choose whom they want to support, and so do I. So, we don’t need anybody’s money. This is not a time to lie about the visible truth we’ve seen”, he insisted.
He furthered that their decision would neither be challenged nor reversed by threats from mights and powers that be.
“I’ve heard of all the intentions, manipulations and threats from various quarters but He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty and He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world”, he boasted.
Surrounded by other Archbishops, Bishops, Apostles and ordained Ministers, Archbishop Bassey enclosed the YPP governorship candidate and his wife, Pst. Imaobong Albert in a session of barrier-breaking prayer on the Church’s altar, and declared them victorious at the poll.
The meeting featured series of prayer for the election, the incoming government and the peace of the State.
The prayer sessions were anchored by anointed ministers including Bishop Akan Weeks, Pastor Angela Ashong and others.
