Akase honours Igba Ogbole as he launches two books
A top governorship aspirant in Benue State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Terver Akase, earlier today (Thursday, November 11) joined other dignitaries at Empire Suites, David Mark Bye-pass Makurdi, to witness the public presentation and launch of two new books, “Maltida (A Novel)” and “Candid Sentiments (A Collection of Select Radio News Commentaries” authored by the Director, News and Current Affairs, Radio Benue Corporation, Mr Igba Ogbole.
The immediate past Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, who was the presenter of the two new books, extolled the sterling contributions of the author to the journalism profession and the literary world in general, describing him as a thorough-bred professional whose lifestyle of humility and amiable nature stands him out as a symbol of inspiration to younger colleagues in the pen profession.
He congratulated the author of the two books and urged him to sustain the tempo of impacting the society through his literary works.
To promote the availability and readership of the two new books, the 2023 PDP guber hopeful, purchased copies of “Candid Sentiments…” for onward donation to all FM Radio Stations operating in the State to enrich their libraries, stating that the book will be a useful resource material for up and coming journalists.
Mr Akase also acquired copies of the novel, “Maltida” for further donation to the libraries of all tertiary education institutions in the State.
State Deputy Governor, Engineer Benson Abounu who spoke at the occasion through his Chief of Staff, Mr Adaikwu Ikwom commended the author, Mr Ogbole for his dedication to his professional career and calling as a writer, describing him as a valuable asset to the State.
Chairman of the occasion and former Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Pastor Ojema Ojotu and the Director-General, Radio Benue Corporation, Dr Charles Iornumbe in their separate remarks eulogised the author, describing him as a perfect gentleman with a track record of selfless and committed service to the State.
In a vote of thanks, author of the two books, Mr Ogbole appreciated God and all the guests for attending the occasion and offering generous contributions towards its success.
The event was attended by people from all walks of life cutting across the academia, media, political class, traditional rulers as well as writers across the State and beyond.
