A’Ibom LG Polls: Governor Umo Eno presents PDP flag to Engr. Eno Patrick
The PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Essien Udim LGA, Engr Enobong Patrick say the party is set for victory in the October 5, 2024 Local Government election, following the successful presentation of flags and Official launch of Campaigns for the 2024 Local Government elections in Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking shortly after receiving his flag as the PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Essien Udim LGA, alongside 30 other Chairmanship Candidates from the Leader of the party and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno at the Uyo Township Stadium, Engr Patrick said, the admonition of the Governor for all PDP candidates to run an issue-based campaign, aligns with his personal philosophy of running a campaign with priority focused on what he intends to do for Essien Udim people as encapsulated in his seven focal points which includes, Peace, Unity and Security, Agriculture and Food Sufficiency, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Investment, Infrastructural Renaissance and Maintenance, Education and Health, Women and Youth Empowerment and Sports Development.
He applauded the Governor for his unflinching warm wishes by imploring them to maintain sanity and decency within the said period of Campaign.
According to the Essien Udim PDP candidate, the Governor has not only set the tone for a violence free electioneering campaign in the state but has gone a long way to prove that the PDP in Akwa Ibom State has a track record of performance through its numerous people oriented programmes and policies, and assured Essien Udim people of his determination to consolidate on the many achievements the PDP have recorded in Essien Udim since 1999 till date.
“As I said during the inauguration of my Campaign Council, I remain committed and dedicated to consolidating on the achievements of my predecessors and what the Governor is doing especially in his vision to transform the lives of the Rural Communities”.
“The next Government in Essien Udim is not a Government of Engr Enobong Patrick. It is going to be the people’s government whereby the NEEDS Assessment of Essien Udim people will be the basis for policy conceptualisation, formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. By so doing, the people will have a sense of belonging which makes Governance easy, and help the Government gain the trust and acceptance of the Electorate”.
He assured Essien Udim people that with their support come October 5, 2024, every part of the Local Government will feel the impact of his Administration because Transparency, Accountability and Inclusiveness are the operational philosophy upon which he will serve Essien Udim people.
The Chairmanship hopeful, thanked the Governor and the PDP for giving him a platform to share his vision and contribute his quota to the development of Essien Udim and the State in his aspiration to serve his people, assuring that with God on his side and with the support and solidarity of Essien Udim people, he will be the servant Leader in whom the Elders, Women, Men, and Youths will be proud of and promised not disappoint the people.
“Essien Udim is work in progress. Rome they say was not built in a day. So also is Essien Udim. Every leader, past and present in Essien Udim have always come onboard and contribute his or her quota to the development of our Local Government. Now by God’s grace, the task is about to be on our shoulders. Let’s unite and together build the Essien Udim of our dream”.
“I cannot do it alone but together, the power of our collective resolve and determination will propel us to overcome whatever obstacle that lies ahead and achieve that which we all desire for our Motherland”, he admonished.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of Campaigns and Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency, Prince Ukpong Akpabio II, assured the Party and the Governor of the determination of Essien Udim people to unite, mobilize and vote for all PDP Candidates come October 5, 2024, stating that with the caliber of men and women within the EnoAbasi Campaign Organization, Essien Udim PDP is set to go into forthcoming Local Government election as one big united and indivisible family and achieve victory for the party.
The presentation of flags Ceremony also had in attendance the Political Leader of Essien Udim, Chief Micheal Afangideh, OON, the Member representing Essien Udim State Constituency, Prince Ukpong Akpabio II, the Essien Udim Transition Chairman, Hon Dr Anthony Luke, the DG EnoAabasi Campaign Organization, Hon. Barr Martin Umana, the Chairman, LOC, Sir Sunyiekekere Inokon, members of the Campaign Council, Heads of Directorate, Women and Youths Support Groups, among others.
