UniUyo NIPRSA Fosters Professional Ties With A’Ibom NIPR
To strengthen ties and foster professionalism in the practice of public relations, students of the University of Uyo, under the aegis of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Students Association (NIPRSA), extended a courtesy visit to the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of their professional body, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
The courtesy visit, which was led by the University of Uyo President of NIPRSA, Comrade Innocent Orok, took place at the Image House, Uyo, on Tuesday.
According to Comrade Orom, the primary purpose of the visit was to establish a familiarity avenue between NIPRSA and its mother body, NIPR.
He further stressed the significance of forging a strong connection between the student association and the professional body.
Other members of NIPRSA during the visit were Precious Matthew (Vice President), and Achifone Ekip-Obasi (Secretary-General).
Addressing the students, the Chapter Chairman of NIPR, Elder Manasseh Umoette, welcomed members of NIPRSA to the Image House and thanked them for the bold steps in fostering professional relationship.
He highlighted the growth of Public Relations, emphasized its autonomy as a profession and stressed the importance of aspiring Public Relations Officers to be members of NIPR.
Elder Umoette also encouraged collaborative efforts in exploring avenues to enhance Public Relations education and practice in Akwa Ibom State.
The Chapter Executive members of NIPR present during the visit were Anthony Udoh (Secretary), Mrs. Emem Okon (Treasurer), and Unyime Ikpe (Auditor).
