Cross River APC Legacy Group calls for inclusion in political representation
APC Legacy Group, a political pressure group River State Chapter, has implored for the inclusion of its members in political representation in both state and federal government appointments during the ongoing transition.
The call was made in Calabar during a press conference led by the group’s chairman, Barr. Eyo Nsa Ekpo. He emphasized the importance of the conference due to the current political developments in Cross River State.
Ekpo stated that “This Press Conference becomes necessary because of the insinuations making the rounds in the public domain, particularly among the political class that the APC Legacy Group is a divisive tendency within the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State, nothing can be further than the truth, and if we were divisive, we wouldn’t have been victorious in all the elections across the country and the state at large.””
The chairman further reiterated that the APC Legacy Group consists of original and founding members of the APC in Cross River State and that they are entitled to any title accrued to them.
He called on the APC leadership in Cross River State and stakeholders of APC nationwide to disregard any deceitful and mischievous narrative about the Legacy Group.
Meanwhile, the state Deputy Publicity Secretary of the group, Comrade Iso Bassey Edim, also implored stakeholders of the APC in the state to carry the group members along in the scheme of things, considering their unprecedented contributions to the success of the whole elections.
The group frowned against the non-inclusion of its members in the current transition and used the conference to drive home their request for inclusion into governance.
