UMO ENO: The man on a divine assignment
During the evangelical mission of the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye to Akwa Ibom State last year, the clergy man, in his homily admonished the congregants and most especially, the political leaders of the State on sundry salient matters of transformational and purpose-driven leadership amongst others.
The man of God made an unusual supplication to God to reveal to Governor Udom Emmanuel through the instrumentality of divine revelation his successor. When the prayer was made, not a few understood the necessity of such an entreaty. But those with understanding knew it was necessary.
“Let it be well with the state and all those who wish her well too. May God grant the governor and the state good successor who will continue with the good works the governor has been doing and who will not disrupt those good works. I pray that God should show through divine revelation to your son who the successor shall be,” he prayed.
Since the prayer was made, many had been on the watch to see how His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel’s successor would emerge. That said, prior to the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) gubernatorial primaries, this writer didn’t blink an eye just to be informed and follow the happenings. The schemes, schisms, cunning, craft, clout, power, ploy and plot deployed by aspiring individuals that crumbled while paving way for the emergence of Pastor Umo Eno are testament to give credence to the fact that his emergence as PDP gubernatorial candidate was divine, and Governor Udom didn’t make mistake for preferring him.
To this end, every sane person would not dissipate energy to consult a clairvoyant if Udom’s successor has actually been revealed to him.
Riding on the wheel of divine programming, and in line with the huge support, the former Lands and Water Resources Commissioner’s popularity is growing by the day ahead of the general elections, which by the grace of God will end with total victory.
Taking over the sceptre of power from Governor Emmanuel would mean a divine assignment for Umo Eno. The assignment to foster peace and advance the development in the state. The state is growing and expanding at all fronts exponentially. Things are working and they must be entrusted into the custody of a capable hand so that the labour of the previous administrators would not be in vain.
More so, for Udom to be fully successful, he needs an experienced person to maintain the tempo.
To maintain such growth; an “anointed” man, a thoroughbred manager, a shrewd administrator, a man with the fear of God, a man that possesses physical and moral courage – a fellow that knows the vision of the state and mission of the incumbent governor should be entrusted with the affairs of Akwa Ibomites.
It is recorded in the holy writ according to 2 Kings 2:1-25 of the translation of Prophet Elijah via a whirlwind from mortality to immortality and how his mantle was reposed on a worthy successor – Elisha! He that must take over from the master must be a good follower, a trustworthy fellow labourer and someone who is not greedy of filthy lucre. From the foregoing, it is established already that Pastor Umo Eno aptly fits into the aforesaid criteria.
In spite of the above, Pastor Umo’s emergence has witnessed some opposition by carnally- minded individuals who didn’t understand the handwriting on the wall. Well, great spirit have always encountered virulent opposition from those incapable of understanding the doings beyond conventional practices.
Akwa Ibom State is God’s project.
Whosoever governs the state is on a divine assignment. Umo has been divinely assigned to take over the reins of authority from Udom Emmanuel, for prosperity, development, security and togetherness.
