Nigerian Army organises free medical care for Essien Udim, Obot Akara people
In a bid to give back to the society and bring succour to humanity, the Nigerian Army Brigade 2, Uyo and 6 Battalion, Ibawa, Abak have organised free medical care for the people of Essien Udim and Obot Akara.
This was contained in a Statement signed by Major ID Aliyu for Commanding Officer, Which indicated that the medical outreach is part of the activities marking Army Day Celebration 2021.
According to the statement, the programme which is organised for Uwa, Ikot Akpan, Ikot Afanga, Ikot Otu and other Villages in Essien Udim and Obot Akara Local Government Areas will take place at Uwa Junction and Ikot Otu Town Hall on Monday, 5th July 2021 from 9am to 4pm.
The release further indicates that the annual event is designed to celebrate the Nigerian Army landmarks achievements and showcase its transformation strides in innovation, research and technological development. “It is also a period to conduct some community service rendering activities aimed at fostering civil-military cooperation.”
In the same vein, the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association 2 Brigade chapter will on the same day embark on humanitarian visit to Mboho and Mother Charles Orphanage homes in Abak and Uyo to provide succour and motherly care to the orphans in addition to other humanitarian services.
